This is really great to hear. I was unaware prior to starting in this
program that there was such a focus on postsecondary DE.

The items you listed are very good. I would add a few.

-culture and curriculum (K-12 students need special attention with regards
to curriculum, which is mandated over a broad area, and often overlooks
diversity, esp. of those who must rely on DE. Instructors who are
unfamiliar with cultural background of their students and don't "see" them
are less likely to be effective.)

-mentorship/tutoring (part of unit on pedagogy): K-12 students are more
likely to require f2f/immediate assistance with asynchronous material

-guidance counselling: How do secondary DE students receive guidance on
course selection and post-secondary preparation?

-innovations in DE in terms of variety of courses to be taught: Could you
teach P.E.? Could you teach music? Art? Physics? etc...

These are issues our school struggles or has made headway with. I am sure
there are others, and I will let you know if I can think of more.

Kevin.

I know which ones stand out to me immediately:

- technology use in distance classroom
- distance learning for younger k-6 and older 7-12 groups

These are things I have had to really dive into myself in order to
develop the skills I desired - I personally would want to take a
course offering this content. I'll ask some colleagues of mine and
see what they think too.
